Once Facebook changed company name for Meta, it changed the way metaverse is considered in medias. It was a big and brave step for such a big organization to clearly announce that it will jump into web3 world.

Definition

Metaverse is considered as the 3D rendered Internet, which allows to have you inside this digital world. It shows that it is not necessary to stare at the monitor to attempt in different video meeting or games, it can be done by strictly be inside the virtual reality.

Metaverse also would affect other aspects of casual life like shopping, social media or art. It is difficult to determine the entire shape and all aspects of metaverse because it is still developed. It is in a very early stage.

Virtual Reality

It place user into digital reality which is practically the replication of physical world. It is captured by 360º photography or filming and displayed in a special headset, which allows to see three dimensional world.

Augmented Reality

It combines real world and digitally created items, which are placed in this space. For example, it is possible to generate some 3D items and display it in virtual reality. It can be done with furnitures, which are directly suited to an apartment, just to see if it fits.

Mixed reality

Mixed reality combines two of above described realities and display it to user through headset. It also reduces the sound from real world to be completely focused on digital experience.

Avatar

Avatars are just a digital representation of us in metaverse. It can have different shapes, like humanoid one or totally imagined like dragon, etc. in the metaverse, having an avatar is the only way to participate in this world.

How it works

Metaverse includes all of mentioned technologies, it displays digital world which allows to have huge impact on every aspect of life, but how it is related with web3?

In metaverse world, it should be easy to determine if something is owned by anybody or not. Literally like in normal world. This is why metaverse implements NFTs. Digital licenses for items in this world is a must have, to even have benefits of participating in it.
